The book of Revelation can seem scary and overwhelming, but as I am currently studying it, I am finding that it is truly a source of promise and assurance for God's children.
Here is a page from my devotional, "Worship and Wonder: Faith-Filled Devotions," that reminds us of this hope we have in Jesus:
The moment we place our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior surrendering to Him as Lord of our life, is the moment we are sealed with God’s Holy Spirit, securing our eternal heavenly future with Him. His Spirit comes to dwell in our hearts, comfort our minds, guide our lives, and seal our redemption. His Spirit is a deposit of the good things to come—our blessed inheritance as children of God—in the Kingdom of Heaven.
In Christ we are included, marked, and guaranteed a glorious future with our Heavenly Father—no one can snatch us out of His sovereign hand, or alter His sovereign plan. He promises to be with us each day of our lives and He vows to return from Heaven someday and take us to be with Him always.
We are secure in His love forever. He is sovereign over our future.
We are God’s possession—to the praise of His glory. Amen.
Ephesians 1:13-14, “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.”
