Take Heart

Hearts are fragile things—they can soar on wings or be brought down low; they can explode with joy or be pierced with pain; they can be filled with peace or be overcome with fear. This world causes our hearts to experience many things, and Jesus understands. He knows how we feel, because He Himself has felt that way too. He walked this earth, coming face-to-face with its captivating beauty and witnessing its grim brokenness firsthand. He never promised His disciples or us a perfect life, instead He warned that it will indeed be quite difficult at times. Along with His warning He offered us great encouragement, “Take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jesus has overcome the world and by walking closely with Him, we are overcomers too! Our peace is found in Him alone. Take heart and live as an overcomer in Jesus’ Name.

John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
